| Sally M. Waterhouse With a background in both environmental education and biology, Sally is involved in a wide variety of activities. She taught part-time for the Zoology Department for many years and presently works in the academic advising office. She continues to involve students in her work conducting field surveys of amphibians and cataloging the Zoology Museum collections. I have been a faculty member of the Ohio Wesleyan University Zoology Department since 1992. During this time I have enjoyed teaching a variety of courses and supervising student directed-readings, independent studies, and apprenticeships. My research interests have been primarily focused on avian and amphibian ecology and behavior. I am presently working as an academic advisor specializing in the scientific disciplines and do not teach classes. Environmental education and local natural history are special interests of mine, and I continue to be active in a variety of science activities that involve local schools and organizations. In the past I worked as a naturalist and these activities reflect a continuing commitment to bringing ecological understanding to a broad audience. In addition, I am involved with a variety of other organizations which focus on environmental issues. I am always seeking to involve students in these activities, so please contact me if you're interested. At home, our family enjoys being outdoors and tending our animal menagerie of both vertebrates and invertebrates! When we get a chance, we are likely to be camping or backpacking, watching birds, or in the garden. We love to travel, read history, prepare good food, and listen to a wide variety of music. Visitors are always welcome. |
