I have been a faculty member of the Ohio Wesleyan University Zoology Department since 1992. During this time I have enjoyed teaching a variety of courses and supervising student directed-readings, independent studies, and apprenticeships. My research interests have been primarily focused on avian and amphibian ecology and behavior. Environmental education and local natural history are a special interest of mine and I am active in a variety of science activities that involve local schools and organizations. In the past I worked as a naturalist and these activities reflect a continuing commitment to bringing ecological understanding to a broad audience. In addition I am involved with a variety of other organizations which focus

on environmental issues. I am always seeking to involve students
in these activities, so please contact me if you're interested.
At home, our family enjoys being outdoors and tending our animal
menagerie of both vertebrates and invertebrates! When we get a chance,
we are likely to be camping or backpacking, watching birds, or in
the garden. We love to travel, read history, prepare good food,
and listen to a wide variety of music. Visitors are always welcome. Click on an underlined course title to view a brief description of that course. ZOOL 115, Animals and Their Environment and ZOOL 251, Human Structure and Function. Every few years she teaches Island Biology and takes students to the Galapagos Islands as part of this course. Research interests are primarily in the areas of avian and amphibian
behavior and ecology. |
