Biography:

My position as the Zoology Laboratory Coordinator is comparable to being the center of a wheel-I have my own individuality, but am connected to all. I interact with all the Zoology faculty, the students, and members of other departments within the OWU community.

When a student enters a lab class, my goal is to have all experiments, specimens, and equipment ready for the very best learning experience.

My experiences as a medical laboratory technician and office manager, along with my organizational skills, help me to perform the tasks of: lab setup/tear down; researching and ordering of lab supplies, live/preserved specimens, and equipment; maintaining our chemical and equipment inventories.

The diversity of courses within the Zoology Department, from introduction to Cell Biology to Vertebrates, makes my position unique, interesting, and challenging! It's made me realize that what I learned as a medical laboratory technician, was just the tip of the iceberg! There's so much to be exposed to and learn about, if you have the interest and the time!

Nutrition, exercise, and the natural approaches to having a healthy body are my special interests. I enjoy spending time outdoors, appreciating nature.
